Established in 1985 with three pieces of equipment and a primary focus on the petroleum industry, family-owned and operated Shamrock Valley Enterprises Ltd has serviced the oilfield, private and public sectors with quality work and experienced staff ever since.
Now with more than 150 pieces of equipment, the company continues to service the oil industry but has expanded its services to include oilfield construction and maintenance, environment construction such as landfills and well site reclamation, pipeline construction and upgrading, subdivision construction and upgrading, and road building.
In addition to their original headquarters in Elk Point, AB, the company has recently added an office in the greater Edmonton area to better service the developing city. With modern equipment and a dedication to excellence, Shamrock Valley has completed a multitude of projects on time and under budget.
As the company’s mission statement reads, “Shamrock Valley Enterprises Ltd. is committed to safely and effectively serving our clients’ construction needs while maintaining a reputation for quality work and customer satisfaction.”
QUALITY SERVICES
Shamrock takes pride in creating value for their clients by providing cost efficient solutions and high quality work. “Shamrock is committed to being an industry leader in construction quality, integrity and resourcefulness. Shamrock prides itself in constantly striving for excellence in completing all of its projects, regardless of their size or value,” says the corporate website.
With a fleet of well-maintained machines including graders, excavators, articulated dump trucks, dozers, scrapers, packers, rubber tires backhoes, wheel loaders, welders and farm equipment as well as various trucks and trailers, Shamrock is prepared to handle any job, no matter how challenging.
The company has earned a reputation for quality in the oilfield industry, handling projects in cold-climate operations and providing services, equipment and training for environmental protection and safety.
In fact, Shamrock has also developed a specialty in environmental services with offerings such as environmental cleanup, pipeline removals and reclamation, lease site construction, reclamation and abandonment, liner installation and removal, and facility decommissioning.
“Land reclamation can be a costly and involved process, but efficient practices, such as advanced soil handling and reclamation processes, allow us to make sure sites meet governmental regulations while keeping timelines and budgets in mind,” says Shamrock.
In addition to removing and reclaiming old pipeline, Shamrock assists in the installation of new lines. Around 540,000 kilometers of pipeline cross Canada moving 95 percent of the country’s natural gas and crude oil. With continual oil and gas exploration, coalbed methane drilling and the oil sands, industry experts predict the pipeline industry will continue to grow for years to come. Shamrock assists this vital industry by providing and operating the heavy equipment required for digging in a safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly manner.
SUBDIVISIONS AND ROAD BUILDING
While the company still maintains its original focus on oil related industries, in recent years it has expanded into the construction of residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions and roadbuilding projects in Alberta. The company has also finished several public sector land development projects.
Utilizing an earth-moving fleet, Shamrock is able to meet all heavy civil grading and site preparation requirements. The company offers services including land clearing, removal, salvage, demolition of existing structures, excavation of earth to grade, installation of erosion control products and execution of proper environmental protocols, construction of storm water management facilities, drainage solutions, transporting excess materials, and quality calculation and control.
VALUES
In addition to their dedication to quality construction, Shamrock is also committed to corporate values: “Our desire to be ‘ahead of schedule and under budget’ is second only to our desire to be conscious of public safety and environmentally friendly. Shamrock is also committed to fair and respectful treatment of its employees and sub-contractors as well as being a part of their healthy and prosperous lifestyle.”
The company does everything in its power to ensure thesafety of everyone involved with a project. Safety takes priority over productivity, and Shamrock’s establishes and implements safe work practices that employees are to practice at all times. Managers consider employee safety an integral part of their job, while each employee is expected to identify and report unsafe practices and situations.
As the company moves forward, they will continue to stress these ethical business practices as well as hard work and customer satisfaction. “We will continue to diversify our operations to meet the changing needs of our clientele… and will continue to operate our business with the same personalized service as always,” says Shamrock.
