A new standard of sustainability and connectivity will be set this summer when the Brickell World Plaza opens to the public in the heart of Miami’s financial district in August. The 600,000-square-foot 40-story building will be one of the tallest buildings in the state of Florida.
It will also be South Florida’s first Cisco Connected Commercial Office Building in partnership with Cisco Systems Inc. Essentially it will have its own dedicated hub connecting it to the Internet with a secure and flawless connection.
The project was designed by the global architecture firm RTKL and its developer was the Foram Group. The Foram Group’s intended goal was to set a new gold-standard for technology and sustainability in international commercial property development by creating the most innovative and forward thinking office building in Miami.

Tenants will have direct access to the best internet connection money can buy via underground redundant fiber-optic connections that will have them online in milliseconds.
The Brickell Tower is connected to the NAP (Network Access Point) of the Americas in Miami, one of only eight Tier 4 Data Centers in the world, so tenants will be using one of the most powerful and secure Internet access portals known to man.
Teleconference centers with HD video-conferencing will allow for seamless communication with partners and clients around the world. Also a Digital Antenna System (DAS) has been installed to provide full bar service throughout the Tower and Plaza for all cell phone providers.
A dedicated Peer-Point Information & Communication Technology (ICT) team will be on-site at all times to help manage and support any technological needs of the buildings tenants.
Combined with advanced data security systems, these features make the Brickell Plaza ideal for any companies involved with international trading and commerce. It will be the first “Class A” building of its size in the world to be ISO 27001 Certified, the international benchmark for data security.

The building will be one of only three LEED Platinum-Certified high-rise buildings on the eastern seaboard, and one of only 13 of its size in the whole world. This is the highest level of certification given out by the US Green Building Council.
Energy use throughout the building is monitored through a Building Automation System that makes adjustments to maximize efficiency.
All storm water will be recycled, purified and re-circulated, saving up to three million gallons of water a year. CO2 sensors and modulating dampers will adjust ventilation levels. As a result tenants will save money on reduced heating, air conditioning and water utilities, with an estimated 18% reduction in energy costs.
