Located on Long Island, the Viana Hotel and Spa combines Chinese philosophy and green elements to create a unique and luxurious experience for guests. According to a statement, “Abiding by time-honored principals of feng shui and incorporating modern practices of "green" building, the Viana is Long Island's first and only boutique hotel using elements of ancient Chinese philosophy and eco-friendly living to provide the highest level of comfort, pleasure and serenity.”
The hotel features 103 guest rooms, 12 suites and a penthouse. Green features include a rooftop solar energy system, energy-saving lighting, water saving features in the bathroom, guest towels and robes made of natural bamboo fibers and eco-friendly furniture and décor. The hotel incorporates the five elements of feng shui, including fire, water, wood, metal and earth, to create a tranquil atmosphere throughout the facility. Feng shui is a 3,000 year old concept which revolves around balance and receiving positive qi, which is a flow of energy.
In addition to green and feng shui elements, the hotel features six spa treatment rooms that offer a full range of services using organic and chemical-free ingredients, including the Restorative Marine moisturizer from Hawaiian red algae developed by Viana. For foodies, the hotel features the Marco Polo Restaurant and Bar, which specializes in traditional Italian cuisine with an Asian influence. “Feng shui design, environmentally friendly elements, and unique cuisine round the list of components incorporated to provide guests with a one of a kind, and undoubtedly "balanced" experience,” says a statement by the hotel.
