Matrix Service will construct Canadian tankage
Matrix Service Company has been hired to produce and construct aboveground fuel storage near Alberta, Canada
Matrix Service Company, an engineering, construction and repair and maintenance services organization to the petroleum, power, pipeline and industrial gas industries, announced June 30, that its subsidiary, Matrix Service ULC, has signed a contract with Federated Co-Operatives Limited to produce the fabrication, engineering and construction of aboveground fuel storage tanks near Carseland, Alberta, Canada.
"We are pleased to be selected to construct the aboveground storage tanks for FCL's new terminal near Carseland, Alberta," said Michael J. Bradley, president and CEO of Matrix Service Company in the press release. "This project is significant and reflects our continued expansion and diversification outside of the United States."
The contract is worth about $26 million. On June 4, Matrix Service announced a more than $40 million deal with Gavillon Pipeline and Storage, aiding in the company’s hope to complete four million barrels’ worth of storage at Gavillon’s planned Cushing terminal of 3Q2011.
Matrix Service is a full-service industrial contractor with regional offices in nine US States and three Canadian provinces. Their construction services include civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, piping and instrumentation, specialized heavy hauling and rigging. The company also provides routine, preventative and emergency maintenance for entire plants and facilities, and single units and tanks for short durations of time or on multi-year contracts.
Federated Co-Operatives Limited provides wholesale, administrative services and manufacturing to approximately 250 member-owned retail co-ops in western Canada, which serve over 1.3 million individual members. Federated members have access to petroleum products through the co-op’s refiner Consumer’s Co-operative Refineries Limited (CCRL).
