Thorncrete Construction Ltd of Concord, Ontario has added a new piece of equipment to its roster, one that original owner, Giuseppe Ruscica, could never have even dreamt up back in 1973 when the company was started. The Gomaco GT3600 is the first North American curb machine with a top gun mmGPS system. Without using any form of manpower the curb machine can automatically pour and measure the desired amount of curb.

Second-generation owner Ross Ruscica believes “the ability to have a GPS operated curb machine that virtually eliminates the human errors of spillage in pouring concrete is astonishing.” The machinery was purchased at a dealership in Toronto through Ida Grove, USA and has since successfully poured 1000 meters of curb, spillage free.

"Having our business evolve as a result of technological advances is not just a personal milestone of mine, but also a milestone for the construction industry as a whole. Not only can we now get jobs done quicker and more effectively but this GPS-operated curb machine virtually eliminates the concrete waste and spillage caused by man crews. This is a step in the right direction for us to prepare for a greener tomorrow," Ross Ruscica continued.
