Ashworth College, an online education leader offering more than 100 online degrees, certificate programs, career training and high school diplomas, will engage its student chapter to team up with Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia for the second year to construct a home for the local community. The home will be located in Alpharetta, GA for one local family.

The home building project is part of Ashworth’s 2010 Graduation weekend of activities and Ashworth employees and student volunteers will be part of the kick-off community outreach effort. The Ashworth College Campus Chapter will also present Habitat for Humanity with a financial contribution during a reception at the home’s site. The donation has come directly from the Ashworth staff and student donations from across the globe.

"Ashworth is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we work and live," said Gary M. Keisling, Ashworth College Chairman and CEO says in the press release. "We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity to help hard working families fulfill their dreams and provide them with the opportunity to own a home." Keisling continues, “Anywhere in the world where an Ashworth student is studying, more than likely there is a local Habitat chapter welcoming our student's time and resources.”

“We are grateful for our continuing partnership with Ashworth College," said Bill Campbell, Engagement Specialist for Habitat for Humanity International says in the press release. "We are two institutions focused on people bettering themselves through hard work."

Since Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976, the not-for-profit organization has built more than 300,000 houses worldwide, providing shelter for more than 1.5 million people.
